Hosgood Towers is situated in the heart of rural Swansea, with open fields and sea views (from November to March). It is the perfect location for those wishing for a creative and adventure-filled break (paintbrushes will be supplied, also saws, grout, ladders, angle-grinders and other necessary equipment). We have both double and single rooms available, each tastefully decorated (by the person visiting).
Forthcoming events include a hide-the-fireplace weekend, a week of hunt-the-plumber, and the event you have all been waiting for (just after Easter), a weekend of hard physical exercise (i.e. the move).

In the following images we hope to give you a taste of what we have to offer.
The grand hallway is at present under construction, and we are awaiting the arrival of the new stair carpet, the old one having been sold at auction as a historical piece of cultural interest. Off the grand hallway you will find a number of rooms, and what follows is a short guide to what you will find when you visit.

For those who like things high tech: The 'bridge' or command centre, is just having it's consoles installed ready for the computer. Space travel should be possible soon. |

The lounge with its TV view screen is in early stages of development. Please note the wonderful original wall colour discovered when the feature fireplace was removed on one of our 'Relieve your Aggression the Hard Way' weekends. This weekend there will be a 'hide the hole' weekend for anyone interested in a mental challenge and spot of bricklaying. |

The dining area now has basic furniture installed. We are now looking for a local artist to provide some interest for the walls. |
The kitchen is nearing completion and awaits those eager tourists looking for a self-catering break. There is also a course in tiling for those interested.
The first floor has three guest bedrooms, we have tried to provide a range of styles:
The master bedroom is in pleasing tones of blue with delightful wooden features giving the overall impression of a ship sailing in the cool dusk of tropical seas. Don't bother booking this one - the Baron & Mrs Baron have bagged it! |
|
The second room is for the more creatively minded, please bring your own bed and floor varnish (brushes can be supplied). Here you see the immediate aftermath of the use of a monster floor-sander. That's not flare in the camera lens you're seeing- it's the fine sawdust in the air. |
|
The third room is for those interested in the plumbing course. You will find we have provided most of the bits needed to plumb the bathroom within this room. The YMCA-style ranch bunkbeds are designed to enhance the adventure holiday mood.

It should be mentioned that the bath at present is al fresco, many guests find this refreshing - commenting that the rainwater really does look after their skin. Please note that this facility will only be available for another couple of weeks.
Many new guests find they enjoy the earthy nature of the short weekend breaks, below is Stella (one of our recent visitors) enjoying the 'Joint Honours in Garden Design and Creative Use of High Explosives' course.
We look forward to seeing many new visitors this season as well as the return of our regulars.
